Need some help with NetSpot.
I’m planning WiFi for two apartments, one directly above the other. I have a floor plan for each, but I’m not sure how to combine them.
Basically, I want to see how much signal from the downstairs APs reaches the apartment upstairs before deciding whether I need more APs there.
Can I somehow overlay the two floor plans and see the coverage between them? Or do I have to plan each apartment separately?
Are you talking about merging two existing surveys or doing predictive planning? Different things.
@Game_over_404 Planning. I have the floor plans and AP locations, but haven’t installed everything yet. Just trying to figure out how much coverage I’ll actually get upstairs.

Ah, that explains it. NetSpot 6 has multi-floor Planning now. You can add both apartments as separate levels of the same building and see how the predicted signal travels between floors. No need to plan each apartment separately anymore.
@On_the_drive Wait, seriously? So it actually calculates signal between floors, not just stacks the maps on top of each other?
Yep. You can set the floor material and thickness too, so it accounts for the concrete between your apartments. Still a prediction obviously, but that’s pretty much exactly what you’re trying to do.
