Can’t play games in my room but Wi-Fi looks fine?

So I’m kinda confused. Everywhere in the house shows full bars and Speedtest looks normal, but when I try to play in my room — it’s basically unplayable.
What’s weird is streaming and browsing seem okay.

Anyone know what could be going on?

Full bars don’t really mean much tbh. Could be interference or congestion. What band are you on? 2.4 or 5 GHz?

“Full bars” is basically a lie, that just means you’re connected, not that it’s good.

@According_Grass_45 Not sure, probably 5 GHz. Router is in another room though.

this sounds like classic interference or channel overlap. The first thing I’d do is check your Wi-Fi environment to see if there’s any channel congestion. In my experience, this is the most common problem.

I checked in my router settings and it looks like I’m on 2.4 GHz.But how do I actually see what my neighbors are using?

You won’t really see that in your router UI. You need a Wi-Fi analyzer for that. Something like NetSpot will show all nearby networks, what channels they’re on, signal strength, etc. That’s how you figure out if you’re overlapping with everyone else.

Classic. “Wi-Fi looks fine” until you actually measure it.

Alright, tried that. Here’s what I’m seeing

Honestly, it’s not that bad. Just narrow your channel width to 20 MHz
